International exchanges and academic networks

The Department of Social Anthropology is actively involved in international academic networks and programs for student and faculty exchanges. As a participating partner in the ERASMUS+ program, it collaborates on an annual basis with well-known universities in Europe, as well as academic institutions in other regions of the world, including Canada, Chile, China and Nepal.

Moreover, the faculty members of the department play a significant role in the activities of international scientific associations, such as in the European Association of Social Anthropologists (EASA), the International Association of Southeastern European Anthropology (IASEA) and the Modern Greek Studies Association (MGSA), and also hold high level positions, such as in the International Society for Academic Research on Shamanism (ISARS).

In this context, numerous conferences, workshops, seminars and public lectures are organized by the department, on a regular basis, in which well-known social anthropologists, doing cutting-edge research, present their work.
